So just load, click on the thumbnail, click edit, and the side menu will open and you can do the adjustments you want, then click on Convert files, turn them to jpegs and move them to the storage of your choice. View does a good job in doing the basics if you want. The white balance in View is pretty good I think, better than NX for some photos.

I suppose I could just skip View, but I do like the white balance feature, I use it instead of NX2, and then go to NX2 to do the rest.

It is very slow on my Mac and I only use it to load the files. You select white balance, can do basic adjustments that are shown (contrast, sharpening, saturation, etc. ViewNX doesn't need a whole lot of tutorial, if it opens right, it is pretty intuitive. Well, if it is working right, it should automatically bring up Nikon Transfer, load the photos and open into ViewNX.
